With a multicultural background, rooted in Chinese heritage and shaped by French, Irish, and British influences, I draw inspiration from diverse cultures and experiences to create the unique world of Alex and Friends.

As the mother of a 9-year-old daughter, I rediscovered my childhood love for storytelling through reading picture books and sharing creative activities with her in both French and English. These precious moments inspired me to create stories that nurture imagination.

After years in the tech industry, I realised my true passion was to build something meaningful for children and families. In September 2025, I began writing and illustrating my own stories, designing characters, and bringing Alex and Friends to life.

To further develop my craft, I attended illustration classes in Dublin with Oisín McGann and joined online writing classes with Martin Keaveney in January 2026.

With encouraging feedback from parents and educators, I officially launched the Alex and Friends book series last April 2026, a collection of adventures designed to support children’s emotional growth, creativity, and learning.

The first story explores themes of fear of the dark, friendship, and courage. I also launched a companion funbook filled with short stories, games, and hands-on activities that help children develop fine motor skills, creativity, numeracy, and early reading abilities.

Alex and Friends is more than a book series. It is an enriching experience designed to inspire, educate, and empower children as they grow.
